Guatemalan Huehuetenango SHB

I can’t believe it’s Sunday already. This weekend has gone so fast. Anyway, today I got the chance to sit down and cup the Guat that I brought home from the roastery. The aroma was great, it had a rich, peppery, smoky smell to it. Very strong on the pepper (or some similar spice) though. The flavor was a pronounced cinnamon, cocoa, with a slight nutty taste. The acidity was bright and tangy with a light body feel to it. The finish was the best part of this cup. It had a nice long floral aftertaste that resonated very nicely. Overall I was very happy with this coffee.

I have some Organic Colombian to cup. Hopefully I can do that in the next few days. Also for those of you who found this blog, and live in the southwest, there’s a barista competition being held in Vegas at the International Coffee and Tea expo. Here’s the link for the info:
